Finish #76 – Flutie

DSCN1875.JPGI’ll let you in on a little secret. I picked this book up at the library because I knew that I could read it quickly. Hey, time’s ticking away. I’ve got to get 24 more books finished before the new year. Sacrifices must be made. Sacrifices as in picking a book based on how many pages it has and not on the picture on the front cover which is usually how a book is picked. I’m certainly not the only one who judges a book by its cover, am I?

Talk about an odd little book. Finish #76, Flutie by Diane Glancy, is certainly that. I will say one thing: Diane Glancy has a way with words. When she compared tears to melted words, I was struck with what a great comparison that was. I actually paused in my reading and ruminated on that for several seconds. I’m not certain after reading Flutie if I can say that I’m looking forward to reading the other book by this author that I also checked out.

What I am looking forward to is our latest “addiction.” We’ve been enjoying two or so episodes of Longmire nearly every night for the past few days. And wonder of wonders, Longmire is based on a series of books. Yippee! Guess what I’ll be looking for at the library?! Expect an update in the future on what I find.
